An updated Drug Library has been sent to the PLUM 360 infusion pumps. The following updates/additions have been made:
- Additions: Vancomycin continuous infusion, Oxacillin continuous infusion, Sotrovimab
- Limit/rate adjustments: Labetalol drip
- Bamlanivimab/etesevimab can now be given as piggyback with a NS flush no longer concurrent only
- IF AT ANYTIME A HARD SAFETY LIMIT NEEDS TO BE OVERRIDDEN/WORKED AROUND THIS IS A SITUATION THAT NEEDS TO BE ESCALATED TO A MANAGER/DIRECTOR/SUPERVISOR AND PHARMACY SO THAT A REVIEW OF THE CASE AND DRUG LIBRARY CAN BE PERFORMED
- This above verbiage will be added to the IV pump policy.
- Please disseminate to staff so that we can work through any potential safety/drug dosing/guideline issues real time
To get the current drug library onto the pumps they need to be power cycled:
- If the pumps are already on they should have downloaded the drug library. When you turn the pumps off (when finished using them) the drug library should automatically install
- Installation process takes roughly 2 minutes 30 seconds
- If you have a par of pumps on your floor and need to power cycle them. This is what Agiliti will do with the pumps they have on hand.
- Turn the pump on->Let it sit for a few minutes->then power down->you will hear a beep then see this screen
The updated drug library version will appear as follows once the pump is powered back on:
