To align with the New York State Department of Health guidelines regarding the expanded exposure criteria for un-boosted colleagues and to work with our testing supply constraints, and the need to support our hospital workforce, exposed asymptomatic physicians and colleagues can return to work after their first negative home antigen test and will then need subsequent negative home antigen tests on day two and three from the date of exposure.
Physicians and colleagues need to submit proof of the negative tests to the Employee Health Office (EHO). Proof requires submission of one photo that includes both the COVID-19 test results and a government-issued identification such as a driver’s license. Physicians and colleagues will be brought in for PCR confirmatory testing on any day five-seven post exposure. Temporary acceptance of at-home testing to be eligible for COVID-19 pay has been extended by Trinity Health through February 28, 2022.
Physicians and colleagues must still call the EHO to report an exposure, whether it is inside the hospital or from within the community, to be screened and given instructions.
Physicians and colleagues may continue to work if they remain asymptomatic. If at any time during this process symptoms develop, individuals should not report to work and call the EHO for further direction at 315.448.5581.
