Nursing Health Stream Education and Huddle Education

Nursing Health Stream Education and huddle education on opioid range orders will begin February 3^rd and will be conducted over several weeks.

The education is based upon the results of the pharmacy IRB approved study Administration Accuracy of as Needed Oral Opioids: Comparison of Combined Versus Separate Range Orders.

The study showed a very high rate of inaccurate administrations.

The house-wide nursing education describes tools the nurses may use in handling pain range orders, including communicating these issues with the physicians and clinical affiliates.
