• Paroxysmal atrial fib (< 7 days)
• Chronic paroxysmal atrial fib (intermittent atrial fib over > 3 months)- Use this for patients presenting in NSR but on chronic treatment for atrial fib
• Persistent atrial fib (continuous atrial fib for > 7 days)
• Chronic atrial fib, unspecified (any type of atrial fib > 3 months) – includes patients treated with a pacer (they are still in atrial fib underneath the pacer)
• History of atrial fib (successfully treated with catheter ablation)
