Starting Monday, March 29, St. Joseph’s Health will launch a new expedited screening process for MGPS locations.  MGPS colleagues may complete their COVID-19 temperature check and health symptom questions from their mobile device or PC. Think of it as a “fast pass” to expand our screening locations and reduce wait time of in-person screening areas.

Remote screening will now be open to colleagues, nurses, physicians, advanced practice professionals (APPs) and residents working in our St. Joseph’s Physician offices across the network.

How To Get Started?

To sign up, click the link of your primary work location. This is a one-time login. Physicians and HCPs who work in multiple locations only need to register for one to count for all sites.

To get started, scan the QR Code below or visit https://app.certify.me/SJHSYR

Question 1
Check your temperature prior to your shift.  Is it equal to or greater than 100.0 (37.8 C)?  (A thermal measuring device will be available near colleague entrances for those who don’t have a thermometer.)

Fever (greater than 100.0), cough, shortness of breath, loss of taste, loss of smell, vomiting)

Chills, muscle pain, headache, sore throat, diarrhea, congestion, runny nose.

  1. Have you tested positive for COVID-19 in the past 14 days?
  2. Have you experienced new onset (e.g. not typical for you due to allergies, etc.) of any of the symptoms of possible COVID-19 infection listed below in the past 14 days? Fever (>100 F), cough, shortness of breath, loss of taste and/or smell, vomiting, chills, muscle pain, headache, sore throat, diarrhea, nasal congestion, runny nose
  3. Have you knowingly been in close contact in the past 14 days with anyone who has tested positive for COVID-19 or who has or had symptoms of COVID-19?
  4. Have you travelled to any of the restricted states identified by the NYS Dept of Health in their Travel Advisory web page in the past 14 days? The restricted states identified by NYS can be found here.

The remote screening tool will present one of two outcomes:

  • SUCCESS. Please report to work with proper facial covering.
  • STOP. Your answers require additional evaluation. Don’t report to work. Contact the Employee Health Office and your supervisor for next steps.

The goal is to have most health care personnel using remote screening.

What if I don’t have a smart phone or internet access at home? Screening is required before entering a St. Joseph’s Health facility. Those who are unable to use the remote screening app will continue to answer the health questions and receive a new mask at the in-person at a screening station.

We know there are many questions as colleagues adjust to this new process. Please visit the COVID-19 Resource Center for Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ), and Tip Sheet. Our Pledge to Protect calls on us to be role models for safe practices among our families, friends, patients and coworkers.

The screening process provides colleagues a quick and efficient process to complete the screening prior to entry into any MGPS locations.

Thank you for your support as we roll out the new remote screening procedures.
